Overview
Acibadem CityClinic Tokuda Hospital is the largest medical institution in Bulgaria, built and developed with private investments. Inaugurated on the 28th of November of 2006 as part of the health group of Japanese doctor and entrepreneur Dr. Torao Tokuda.
On the premises of the hospital operates the largest diagnostic and consultative center in the country – Acibadem CityClinic DCK Tokuda. The center is equipped with unique technology for Bulgaria and the region, utilized by leading specialists from all fields.
Inauguration and Investment
The Tokuda Hospital was inaugurated in 2006, marking the largest investment in healthcare in Bulgaria in over 30 years. That same year, it won the Investment of the Year award, followed by the prestigious Building of the Year award.
Accreditations and Recognition
Acibadem CityClinic Tokuda Hospital is accredited by JCI (Joint Commission International) for quality and safety in healthcare. In July 2013, it was recognized as a Scientific Organization by the Ministry of Science and Education, allowing for the conduct of doctoral programs and academic positions.

As of 2016, the hospital is part of the largest group of medical establishments in the country – Acibadem CityClinic, which includes 4 hospitals, 4 medical centers, over 2500 medical specialists (700 of whom are doctors), and 750 beds. Acibadem CityClinic is part of the Acibadem Healthcare Group, one of the largest in Turkey. Globally, the chain is part of the Malaysia-based public company IHH Healthcare Berhad. This attracts patients from Bulgaria and abroad, as well as experts from other countries, with whom the hospital’s doctors exchange experiences and develop new initiatives and projects.
