DR. Stefan Cherkezov Municipal Hospital AD – Veliko Tarnovo is the largest and most structurally significant healthcare facility in Veliko Tarnovo Province.
The hospital has 18 departments that provide 24-hour admission and medical care for patients from all 10 municipalities in the region.

13 of the departments have a 2nd level of competence, and 5 departments have a 3rd level of competence.
The hospital operates a Consultative-Diagnostic Block (CDB) with reception and consultation offices (RCO) staffed by specialists, as well as an Emergency Admission Department, which handles a large portion of trauma cases and serious incidents across the entire region. For patient convenience, the healthcare facility has a pharmacy.
For over ten years, Veliko Tarnovo Regional Hospital has been a training base for postgraduate specialization of young doctors. It is a preferred place for future specialists, as each has the opportunity during their five-year specialization to gain practical experience in the dynamics of a real working environment.
