Assoc. Prof. Tsvetan Minchev, MD, PhD

Assoc. Prof. Tsvetan Minchev, PhD, was a medical scientist in 1989 at the Medical University, Sofia. He acquired a General Surgery Specialty in 1996 and a Breast Surgery Specialty in 2000.

In 2002 he underwent a qualification course in Videothoracoscopic and mediastinoscopic surgery from the Medical University of Sofia. In 2006 he obtained a Bronchoscopy Certificate after training at the Specialized Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases St. Sofia. He completed the VATS Master class specialization in video assisted thoracoscopic surgery in Istanbul, Turkey under the guidance of Diego Gonzalez and Albert Toker, as well as a course in advanced video assisted mediastinoscopy in Timisoara, Romania. Many additional qualification courses have been completed.

In 2019 he is certified to work with the Da Vinci Surgical Platform in Breast Surgery in Atlanta, USA.

Prof. Minchev is the first Bulgarian surgeon with a certificate for Robotic Surgery in the field of Breast Surgery.
